Riverbend Benders is a local snowmobile Club located in northeast Illinois. Cary, Illinois is our home base and we belong to both Region 1 (Lake County) & the McHenry County Snowmobile Association (MCSA). We’ve been here for over 30 years and have members from several northern suburbs. We’re a family-oriented club that promotes safety classes and participates in charitable events that serve our community. We mark and maintain the local trails at two locations: Lakewood Forest Preserve (LCFPD.org) and Golden Oaks Farms, which is privately owned. In addition, there are at least two annual club snowmobile trips to snowy destinations such as St. Germain, Phillips, and Hayward, Wisconsin. We welcome your interest in our club!
*** SNOWMOBILE TRAIL INFORMATION ***
================================================================
The snowmobile trails located between IL-176 (to the south) and IL-120 (to the north) are CLOSED for the entire 2025-2026 season, and anyone entering the property during this time will be trespassing. All of the following entrances are closed with fencing and signage.
1- North Entrance - SW corner at Darrell Rd & W Case Rd
2- South Entrance - NE corner at Darrell Rd & N Lakeview Cir
3- West Entrance - NE corner at W Burnett Rd & Eastway Dr
4- East Entrance - SW corner at W Bonner Rd & Robert Crown School
Although the trails are expected to return next season, riders must remember that trail access is a privilege, not a right. To help protect the future of these routes, everyone is asked to respect the closure and STAY OFF the property this winter, regardless of how much snow falls. Anyone who wants to support the trails, contribute to their upkeep, or be part of the effort to bring them back is encouraged to join the Riverbend Benders Snowmobile Club, where volunteers play a key role in making the trails possible!
We proudly mark and maintain the local snowmobile trails in addition to giving back to the community with our roadside clean-up and other charitable activities.
